Dry January in London
“Dry January” is a registered trademark of Alcohol Change UK. This guide is independent and not endorsed by the charity.
Taking a month off alcohol in London is easier than it was a few years ago if you plan where you will drink and shop. Pick venues that put low- and no-alcohol drinks on the main menu.
Before January starts
- Stock your fridge from a specialist such asCharlie’s Drinks Store orClub Soda’s online shop (their Covent Garden tasting room closed in January 2026).
- Download Alcohol Change UK’s free Try Dry app from their official site if you want structured support. We link to them for facts and are not partners.
- Tell friends which pub you are happy to meet in, such as Marylebone’sLucky Saint or Soho’sBasement Sate mocktail list.
During the month
Rotate between “destination” alcohol-free bars and normal pubs with strong AF fridges. Young’s pubs running the Spritz menu and craft pubs likeThe Holly Tree keep social plans flexible.
If you miss the LGBTQ+ bar scene, look atQueers Without Beers andThe Sober Bar London for pop-up sober socials, and confirm venues on their sites because the old Club Soda home on Drury Lane has gone.
